OUR MISSION
We inspire girls in Greater Sacramento to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
THE PROGRAM
Girls on the Run is a fun, evidence-based program that inspires all Sacramento-area girls to build their emotional, mental, and physical health. Dynamic lessons creatively integrate running while instilling valuable life skills including confidence, kindness, and decision-making.
Some of the lessons girls learn include:
- Emotions and how to express them (“I feel…when you… because… I wish you would”)
- Self-talk, both positive and negative
- Balancing school/life, healthy/unhealthy food, and screen time/movement
Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento served more than 670 girls in 2022. We are committed to ensuring access for all participants, regardless of their financial situation.
Thanks to support from donors like you, in 2022, nearly 50% of all Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento participants received financial aid.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Your donation will help us expand to more schools and offer scholarships to girls who otherwise would not be able to afford this transformational program across Sacramento, Yolo, and western El Dorado and Placer counties.
