At Girls on the Run Rockies, teaching essential life skills is the cornerstone of our research-based programs. Trained volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.
I was a coach for GOTR for many years and the impact I saw this program have on the girls I coached was life changing. This year I am a board member and fundraise for this important cause. Now more than ever, girls need to learn coping skills for coping with anxiety and the lessons learned in this program truly help, particularly incorporating regular exercise!
