I fell in love with Girls on the Run (GOTR) during my undergrad at Colorado State University as the organization was my sorority’s philanthropic partner. As we helped raise money and promote the program, I knew I wanted to be more involved upon graduation. In 2023, I signed up to be a coach and am now going in to my 3rd season coaching for a local GOTR team. As a coach, we get to empower girls to shine and be their best selves. We teach participants to be confident, to speak up for themselves, to be a good friend, and to embrace their uniqueness all while training for a 5K! Knowing that I make a difference for girls during a pivotal time of their lives to help them grow and realize their potential drives me to continue working with and supporting GOTR.
GOTR’s mission is to empower participants for a lifetime of healthy living. The program for kids in the 3rd through 8th grades inspires participants to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. I signed up to be a SoleMate because I want to bring awareness to this amazing program and make it more accessible for girls in Colorado. When you donate to my fundraiser for GOTR, your contribution will go towards scholarships for girls in need to register for the program. Help me reach my fundraising goal of $750 as I train as a SoleMate to race in the Broncos Fit 7K on August 31st, 2025 in Denver, CO!
