Girls on the Run reaches girls at a critical stage, strengthening their confidence at a time when society begins to tell them they can’t. Our Program underscores the important connection between physical and emotional health, our program addresses the whole girl when she needs it the most. At an age when girls are constantly trying to measure up to ideas of who they should be or how they should act, Girls on the Run leads them to understand that their potential isn’t just enormous — it’s beyond measure. The Girls on the Run program provides a toolbox for girls to use for the rest of their lives. During our 10-week program, girls in grades 3rd-8th learn how to be good friend, choose good friends, conflict resolution, how to give back to their community, and so much more, all while training to reach a goal of completing a 5K at the end of the season!

Girls on the Run Shenandoah Valley serves the cities of Winchester and Harrisonburg, and Clarke, Frederick, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren Counties in Virginia, and Berkeley, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Grant, Mineral, and Morgan Counties in West Virginia.
