I’m really excited to be fundraising for Girls on the Run Hudson Valley while training for the NYC Marathon 💗🏃♀️
I’ve supported Girls on the Run in different ways over the years from cheering at their 5Ks in Pennsylvania, fundraising as a SoleMate for the GAP Trail Relay, and getting to see firsthand the impact this program has on girls. Watching them cross the finish line cheering for each other, smiling so proudly, and realizing “wait… I can actually do hard things” is such a special thing to witness.
Girls on the Run is about so much more than running. It helps girls build confidence, learn how to support one another, practice empathy, and believe in themselves. The 5K at the end of the season celebrates all of that growth, and honestly, it’s emotional every single time.
And in a lot of ways, this marathon journey has mirrored that growth for me too.
The first year I ran the marathon, my goal was honestly just to survive it and finish because I had already paid twice and felt I had to. The second year, I ran to let myself enjoy the experience. This year feels different because this year I’m actually training to PR!
Now that I have a daughter, this mission hits even closer to home. I want her, and every girl, to grow up knowing she’s strong, capable, and worthy of taking up space.
I’m so proud to be running the NYC Marathon with Girls on the Run Hudson Valley, and I’d truly appreciate any support. Whether you donate, share this post, or just cheer me on along the way, it all helps support programs that give girls the confidence to believe in themselves. 💕
