This year, Pippa has been offered the amazing opportunity to join Girls on the Run! I have started the couch to 5K program so I can join Pippa as her running buddy in the upcoming Girls on the Run Spring 5K! I have also decided to become a Girls on the Run SoleMate because I believe in the limitless potential of girls. Sadly, research shows that confidence levels peak for girls at age 9 and activity levels peak at age 10. But it doesn't have to be this way. Girls on the Run is an after-school program designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength. Lessons emphasize the important connection between physical and emotional health. The program helps young girls grow and learn the critical life skills that will help them navigate the challenges of adolescence—and become successful women. Nearly 2,000 girls are served each year in our area, including teams and youth that receive nearly $150,000 in financial assistance to ensure equitable access. No girl is ever turned away for an inability to pay. Join me in supporting this important work as I complete the Girls on the Run Spring 5K!
