As many of you know, I coached with Girls on the Run Philadelphia for 4 seasons before joining the Executive Board. Per usual, this giving season I will continue to give girls in the Philadelphia area the gift of confidence. Along with my fellow board members, I am raising funds to bring the life-changing Girls on the Run program to girls from underserved communities across our region.
Last year, my goal to raise $2,500 was vastly exceeded because of my incredible network of support. Together we raised $4,344!!!! I wonder if we can exceed that this year?!!!?
Over the past 13 years, Girls on the Run Philadelphia has inspired over 8,600 girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. Now through December 31st our dedicated board of directors has pledged a board match of $27,000. This means contributions to my fundraiser will be DOUBLED until we reach $27,000. ABOUT Girls on the Run: Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Each season 70% of our participants are able to experience the program through scholarship support - this is why your support is so critical!
