Help Me Paddle the MR340 — Supporting Our River & Communit
I’m excited to share that I’ve officially signed up for the MR 340, the world’s longest nonstop paddling race. This legendary event spans 340 miles of the Missouri River—from Kansas City to St. Charles—and is run 24 hours a day, day and night.
Paddlers must complete the entire course in 85 hours or less, relying exclusively on human power. No motorboats are allowed—just paddle strokes, determination, navigation, and teamwork against the river itself.
A Brief History of the MR340
The MR340 began in 2006 as a bold idea: to reconnect people with the Missouri River and demonstrate what’s possible through human-powered adventure. What started as a small grassroots event has grown into an internationally recognized endurance race, attracting hundreds of paddlers each year—from elite athletes to first-timers—each taking on the river under the same demanding conditions.
Today, the MR340 is more than a race. It’s a test of resilience, a shared journey through day and night, and a celebration of the Missouri River.
Why I’m Fundraising
Participation in the MR340 supports Missouri River Relief, a nonprofit dedicated to:
Delivering thrilling, well-run river races
Providing educational adventures that connect people to the river
Leading impactful river clean-up programs that protect this vital resource
All funds raised are tax-deductible and go directly toward these efforts—not just helping paddlers take on this challenge, but ensuring the Missouri River remains healthy, accessible, and protected for future generations.
How You Can Help

Thank you for supporting me, the MR340, and the mission of Missouri River Relief. I’ll be carrying your encouragement with me every mile—day and night—downriver. During race week, you can follow my progress live on the RaceOwl website or mobile app at https://raceowl.com. My boat number is 9815, and my boat name is Wet Nuts — I’d love to know you’re tracking along as I head downriver!
