My Why: Finding Peace in the Pace
At 48 years old, I found myself at a crossroads I didn't expect: recovering from an ACL injury and looking for a way back to myself. In a world that feels increasingly loud and chaotic, I rediscovered running—not as a chore, but as a sanctuary.
Running has become my "quiet space." It’s where I find my joy, my strength, and the reminder that I can heal and grow at any age.
Why I’m Running for Girls on the Run:
I’m competing as a SoleMate because I want every girl to find her "quiet" and her "strength" long before she hits 48. Girls on the Run uses physical activity as a platform to teach girls that they are capable of navigating life's hurdles with grace and confidence.
I am running to ensure that:
• Resilience is learned early: So when life "breaks" a little, they know how to rebuild.
• Joy is the priority: In a world of digital noise, I want them to feel the simple, grounded peace of their own two feet on the pavement.
• Confidence is fueled: Every dollar raised helps provide scholarships and programming so no girl is left at the starting line.
My ACL injury taught me that we are stronger than we think. Now, I’m running to make sure the next generation of girls knows they are limitless.
