I grew up hating running but in 2008 I started running for my mental health during college and have been running on and off since then.
In 2016, I partially lost my mobility due to an autoimmune disease and running and I took a break from each other.
I missed running so I signed up for my first runDisney race in 2017 and ran in Disneyland for my first time ever and was instantly hooked. That 5k was one of the hardest runs I've ever done but probably the medal I'm the proudest of.
During 2021, my autoimmune came out of remission and I lost mobility again but I never gave up. I worked really hard and came back and ran Dopey the past two years.
runDisney has brought me an amazing community of women that will cheer you on and lift you up whenever you need them. A community I wish I had growing up.
This year for the 2024 Marathon Weekend 10k, I will be running for Girls on the Run, an organization that teaches young girls how to be strong, independent and to form healthy relationships with others.
