Just over ten years ago, I started my Girls on the Run journey as a volunteer coach. As a runner myself, I wanted my three daughters to experience the sense of empowerment that comes with setting a big goal, working hard, and achieving it. Little did I know, coaching my daughter's team that season would transform my life.
I came to the organization for the running, I stayed for the mission, I was driven by Philadelphia's great need, and as I move on, I am more committed than ever to ensuring every girl in our city can experience Girls on the Run.
I'm running this year's Philadelphia Marathon in honor of that commitment. I hope you'll honor my commitment to the Girls on the Run mission by investing in our girls. Now more than every, they need us!
