I have been a runner since high school, when I first laced up for cross country. That sport taught me about perseverance — but more importantly, it started me on a lifelong path of running.
Since then, I’ve run to clear my mind, to explore new cities, to bond with friends old and new, to accomplish goals I once thought were out of reach, and to show my daughter what she’s capable of. Running restores me. It’s empowering.
That feeling is something I want every young girl to discover. It’s why on November 1, I am running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon for Girls on the Run NYC, a transformative running-based program. I want to instill the value of this lifelong sport in other young girls — and your donation helps make that possible.
Because of Girls on the Run, participants gain a better understanding of who they are and what’s important to them, recognize the value of teamwork and healthy relationships, build confidence to overcome obstacles, and know that they can positively impact and shape our world.
Please consider donating. Every dollar supports a girl who might discover — just like I did — that running isn’t just a sport. It’s a way of moving through the world with strength and joy.
