I am fundraising for Girls on the Run NYC because I deeply believe in its mission to empower young girls through confidence, movement, and mentorship. As a Nurse Practitioner in primary care, I see firsthand how self-confidence, healthy habits, and emotional resilience shape long-term wellbeing. Girls on the Run goes far beyond physical activity—it teaches young girls life skills like teamwork, goal-setting, and self-belief, helping them grow into strong, capable leaders both on and off the course.
This cause is especially meaningful to me because running has been a transformative part of my own life. It has carried me through graduate school, long workdays in healthcare, and personal challenges, while teaching me discipline, perseverance, and mental strength. I come from a close-knit Italian family with strong ties to New York, and running has always been something I share with the people closest to me.
I am incredibly excited to take on this journey as part of the “Rufo Run Club” alongside my sister and cousin. Training and fundraising together makes this experience even more special, as it reflects the same sense of support, encouragement, and community that Girls on the Run NYC fosters in young girls. Together, we are not just running a race—we are running to support programs that build confidence, promote health, and create safe, empowering spaces for the next generation.
