My journey with GOTR... stepping up to help our girls
Girls on the Run (GOTR) has been a valuable part of my life now for 12 years. GOTR was first introduced to us when Maddie was in 3rd grade. All lessons are research based and running is integrated to promote fitness. At the end of the semester, every girl is challenged to participate in a 5K run. After cheering for Maddie through her first 5K, I quickly transitioned my role from side line parent to active coaching. Volunteering as a coach for many years, provided me quality time with Maddie, all while getting healthier myself. WIN - WIN!!!
Together with friends, we continued to grow this program through middle school. After 8th grade, Maddie was able to become a junior coach and volunteer with friends throughout high school. GOTR program provided us with fun times, service work and years of healthy fitness.
FAMILY, FRIENDS & HEALTH... SUCH VALUABLE GIFTS!
As a current Board Member, I continue to work hard to help develop this inspiring program. My passion for GOTR comes from personally seeing how it builds confidence in girls and inspires them to set and achieve their personal goals.
Please join me in raising funds for this valuable program.
