I am excited - and a little nervous - to start my training for the 2025 TCS NYC Marathon that will be held on Sunday, November 2. I will be running with the SoleMates team benefiting Girls on the Run Hudson Valley (GOTR-HV), a NYRR Charity Partner of the Marathon. As part of the team, I am raising funds to support the scholarships that GOTR-HV offers girls who otherwise would not be able to take part of its impactful programs.
Running the TCS NYC Marathon is a meaningful way for me to support GOTR-HV, an organization I feel deeply connected to. As a previous coach for various GOTR-HV teams in Dobbs Ferry, NY, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of its programs, helping young girls develop self-confidence, resilience and essential life skills through its curriculum and 5K training. I've even observed it through my daughter and her friends, who participated in GOTR-HV's programs over multiple seasons.
By participating in the Marathon as a SoleMate, I can incorporate the core values of GOTR-HV—empowerment, strength, and perseverance—while serving as a powerful advocate for the organization’s mission. This commitment aims to expand the reach of its programs, ensuring that more girls have the opportunity to discover their potential, just as I’ve seen firsthand with the teams that I’ve coached.
