Girls on the Run provides programming to 3rd through 5th graders. The 8-week series helps kids to build confidence, gain leadership skills, identify personal values, recognize supportive friends as well as unhealthy friendships, develop communication skills, turn negative self-talk into growth mindset thinking, complete a community service project, and increase physical strength and endurance to complete a 5k run/ walk at the end of the season. Additionally, Girls on the Run offers week-long summer camps which further develop the aforementioned skills as well as a middle school program, Heart and Sole, which expands upon these skills. As a coach and board member for Girls on the Run, I've seen the positive impact of these programs on both individuals and the community. In February 2027, I'll be participating in the Every Women's Marathon. Please join me in donating $27 to Girls on the Run in celebration of girl empowerment and supporting the skill development of future leaders.
As a SoleMate, I am incredibly excited to be raising money to help inspire girls in Snohomish County to be joyful, healthy, and confident! I'd appreciate your support as I work towards my goal.
OUR MISSION:
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
THE PROGRAM:
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 positive youth development program which combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls. Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development – their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons help girls make positive decisions to avoid risky adolescent behaviors. At the end of each program the girls run a celebratory 5K to experience the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment. However, at Girls on the Run, the finish line is just the beginning, as our ultimate goal is to provide the girls with tools and resources that develop their ability to think critically - a skill that will serve them well for a lifetime.
How your contribution can impact a girl in our community:
- $250 pays the registration fee for one girl for the entire 8 week season!
- $75 pays for CPR/First Aid training for one volunteer coach
- $40 pays for a new pair of running shoes for a girl who needs them
- $15 covers healthy snacks at every practice for one participant
- Any amount will help to support our program!
