I am running for Girls on the Run Philadelphia on November 23rd. I love that GOTR is a local organization: my fundraising efforts will directly affect young girls in the community. Even better, GOTR uses a curriculum thoughtfully curated to build confidence and teach the importance of physical activity to girls going through a very influential stage of life.
Sports played an integral role in my social, emotional, and physical development. Growing up with the opportunity to participate in athletics instilled in me a deep sense of confidence, discipline, and passion—shaping not only how I view myself, but also how I approach health and wellness. I’m incredibly grateful that team sports were part of my life from a young age, and I’m passionate about creating similar opportunities for other girls to experience the same growth and empowerment.
The mission of Girls on the Run is to empower girls for a lifetime of healthy living. GOTR inspires 3rd-8th graders to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun curriculum which creatively integrates running. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl.
