As a father of two young girls, I am beyond excited to support a cause that helps young girls!
Since becoming a #girldad, I have become so much more present to how important it is for girls to have spaces where they feel powerful, supported, and capable. I want my daughters—and all girls—to grow up knowing that there are no limits to what they can achieve! And in order to do so WE have to ensure they have positive, safe, and productive environments in which to thrive.
Girls on the Run does more than just teach girls to run; it builds their confidence, strengthens their character, and gives them a community that cheers them on!
My passion for this cause is rooted in my own life. Beyond being a father to my two daughters, I was raised by an incredibly strong mother who taught me the value of resilience and determination. She emigrated to the US speaking no English and went on to become a double board-certified physician. She is my role model and my north star! Growing up, my sister was a dancer who never took a day off; her dedication and hard work were just as instructive to me as seeing the powerful impact of having a dance studio, female mentors, and a community of fellow dancers to navigate life with.
The influence of these and all the other strong women (cousins and tia’s) in my life is why I am so committed to ensuring the next generation of girls has access to the life-changing benefits of athletics and mentorship.
I’m running these 26.2 miles to support that mission. Every dollar raised helps provide the tools and programming these girls need to recognize their inner strength. Thank you for helping me support the future of these young athletes!
