Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls in 3rd–5th grade through a curriculum-based running program that blends physical activity with social-emotional learning. Through our program, participants develop key life skills such as self-awareness, self-management, relationship building, and decision-making. Our season culminates in a celebratory 5K event, where our girls proudly cross the finish line—stronger, more confident, and inspired.
We have so many opportunities and choices in how we support locally. I believe that making the difference in one young woman's life, by affording them the opportunity to participate in Girls on the Run, is an important way we can make a lasting impact. After experiencing the 5K experience personally, I felt the emotions and feelings of accomplishment the participants were sharing as they pushed themselves to the finish line. I want young women to know that they matter, they are strong, capable and deserving of love and support. Being a part of Girls on the Run is a small way I can give back, for all those that empowered me through the years!
