I’m taking on the Dopey Challenge this year! This is a four-day running event that will push me further than I’ve ever gone before - 48.6 miles to be exact, but I’m not doing it just for the miles. I’m raising money for Girls on the Run, a program that helps young girls build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self through movement and mentorship.
Think back to when you were in middle or high school. Don’t you wish you had just an ounce more confidence? A little more belief in yourself, or a stronger voice to stand up for who you are? Those years can be tough, and that’s exactly where this program makes such a difference. Girls on the Run helps girls find a healthy, positive way through those years by building not just physical strength, but emotional strength as well.
This cause is especially meaningful to me because I’ve experienced Girls on the Run firsthand and I've seen the positive impact it has. I ran the Girls on the Run 5K with my daughter and it is one of my favorite memories with her. Over the course of several weeks I watched her grow, challenge herself, and gain confidence through this program.
The Dopey Challenge takes place in January 2027, and between now and then I’ll be training hard. Early morning workouts, long runs after full days of work, and many moments when I'll need to force myself to stay motivated. On those tough days, I’ll be thinking about the girls this program supports and the strength they’re building in their own lives.
Your support helps make programs like Girls on the Run accessible to more girls—so they can experience the confidence, connection, and joy that comes from crossing their own finish lines. If you’re able, I’d be so grateful for a donation of any size. If you can’t donate, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
