I’m Running the NYC Marathon for Girls on the Run 💛
If you had told me a few years ago that I would be running marathons, I wouldn’t have believed you.
I started running because of my sister Gabriela and my cousin Kadi. What began as a few encouragement-filled runs turned into something bigger — we formed our own self-dubbed run club, the Rufo Run Club, and set a goal to complete a half marathon together. Crossing that finish line showed me I was capable of more than I thought. Now, we’re about to run our first full marathon — the Boston Marathon — and I’m setting my sights on the New York City Marathon next.
Running has changed the way I see myself. I never thought I was “a runner.” I never thought I could run 26.2 miles. But with support, consistency, and women by my side pushing me forward, I’ve learned that we are capable of so much more than we think.
That’s exactly why I’m fundraising for Girls on the Run NYC.
Girls on the Run combines physical activity with life skills development, helping young girls build confidence, resilience, and belief in themselves — lessons that extend far beyond the finish line. I know firsthand how powerful it is to have strong women encouraging you to chase big goals. Every girl deserves that kind of support early in her life.
New York City holds a special place in my heart. I lived there for 10 years, and it truly shaped me into who I am today. I used to stand on the sidelines cheering on marathon runners in awe, never imagining I could be one of them. To now have the chance to run through the streets of the city that means so much to me — while supporting an organization that empowers the next generation of girls — feels incredibly full circle.
How You Can Help
I am raising $6,000 to support Girls on the Run NYC. Every donation — big or small — makes a direct impact in helping girls build confidence, community, and strength.
If you’re able to contribute, sponsor a mile, or simply share this page, it would mean the world
