Welcome to my fundraising page!
This summer I'm taking on the challenge of hiking two of Colorado's 14ers in two days to raise money for Girls on the Run, and I'd love your help. Girls on the Run is an afterschool program for girls in 3rd - 5th grade whose mission is to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running." This organization is so near and dear to me. As a coach and current staff member, I've witnessed first-hand the transformation and growth in girls as a result of the GOTR lessons on self-confidence, friendships, connections and goal setting, all while they are training for a 5K.
I'm thrilled for the chance to hike in the Rocky Mountains again. This summer I’ll be celebrating a big birthday (50!). I have so much to be grateful for (family, friends, health and so much more) so I am excited to give back and take on this challenge of summiting Mt. Massive and Mt. Elbert for Girls on the Run. I'll be dedicating my 14ers to my own #GOTRGirl, as well as all the #GOTR girls who are capable of moving mountains, but need some financial assistance in order to participate in this program.
Thank you for considering a donation to Girls on the Run and helping me reach my fundraising goal of $2,000, which will fund a full team of participants (5K entries, running shoes and the social-emotional curriculum). If you have questions or want to know more about Girls on the Run, please let me know, I love to talk about this amazing organization and the impact of its programs. Oh, and let me know if you want to join me on a training hike!
Summit deets: Mt. Massive on day 1 (July 31) and Mt. Elbert on day 2 (August 1)
My fundraising deadline: July 30
