Running the Lakefront half marathon is about much more than crossing a finish line. As Board Chair for Girls on the Run, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the confidence, resilience, and joy this organization brings to young girls in our community.
Every mile I run represents the lessons we strive to teach our participants: perseverance, self-belief, courage, and the understanding that they are capable of more than they imagine. Girls on the Run is not just a running program; it is a life-changing experience that empowers girls to find their voice, build healthy relationships, and develop strength both inside and out.
Serving as Board Chair has deepened my commitment to this mission. I have seen the impact our coaches, volunteers, and supporters make in helping girls navigate challenges with confidence and compassion. Running this race is my way of standing beside them and demonstrating that growth happens one step at a time.
This journey is personal for me because I believe every girl deserves the opportunity to feel strong, valued, and unstoppable. By running this half marathon, I hope to raise awareness and support for a program that is shaping future leaders and creating lasting change in our community.
Your support of Girls on the Run lasts a lifetime. Thank you!
