Board First. Every Month.
Before we ask our community to invest in girls, we invest first.
Not once.
Not annually.
Every single month.
At Girls on the Run Piedmont, our board does more than govern. We model belief.
Each month, girls across seven counties show up to practice. They lace up their shoes. They learn to do hard things. They learn that courage grows through consistency.
We believe leadership works the same way
Board First is our recurring commitment as board members to fuel the mission before inviting others to join us.
It is how we lead with integrity. It is how we build trust. It is how we ensure sustainability.
This is not about equal amounts. It is about equal ownership.
Our program costs hundreds of dollars per girl to deliver with excellence.
Coaches are trained. Curriculum is provided. Scholarships are honored.
Shoes and sports bras are given when needed. Sites are supported. Safety is protected.
When we say we believe in girls, we back it up — monthly.
Recurring giving creates stability. Stability allows growth. Growth means more girls discovering that they are capable of more than they imagined.
Board First is how we set the pace. We are not asking our community to do something we are unwilling to do ourselves.
We go first. We give first. We lead first.
Because when leadership moves, the community follows.
