I ran my first marathon back in 2008 — long before I ever imagined working for Girls on the Run. At the time, I just knew that running and being physically active made me feel good, and I wanted my children to grow up knowing that same joy. Having them at the finish line that day made it an incredibly special moment.
Fast forward to today — more than 13 years with Girls on the Run and countless finish lines later — I never could’ve predicted how my love for running would evolve into a lifelong passion for empowering girls across Southeastern Wisconsin.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching thousands of young girls cross their own finish lines, many hand-in-hand with the caring adults who support them. Seeing the joy and pride on their faces — just like I felt at my first marathon — means the world to me.
