New - Process payment plan transactions in bulk!

Payment Plan functionality in Events has been improved!

  1. Users can now process payment plan transactions in bulk using criteria such as payment number, date range, and/or category!
  2. If there are outstanding payments, an alert will appear next to the Payment Plan Processing tool on the Event Management menu, notifying users that there are transactions to be processed.
  3. If a payment plan's credit card fails, the transaction will remain in the grid and a red hazard sign will appear in the row, notifying users that the payment method needs to be updated.
  4. The participant's record can be opened by clicking on either the First or Last Name hyperlink in the grid.

In addition, Individual Fundraisers can now update the background color selection on their fundraising pages.

Double the Donation and updated donation page!

Pinwheel now supports integrating Double the Donation's 360MatchPro platform into fundraiser donations! The 360MatchPro platform provides nonprofits with tools to identify donors eligible for matching gifts. Fuel your growth by empowering supporter participation in workplace giving programs while gaining actionable insights from 360MatchPro along the way. For more details, visit Double the Donation. For instructions on how to integrate existing 360MatchPro accounts with Pinwheel, click here.

In addition, Pinwheel's Donation Details page has been revised to reduce clutter and streamline the donor experience. Unnecessary headers and lines have been removed, and field names now appear inside the fields, instead of appearing both above and inside the field. The form has also been reordered to put all billing information together, including address and payment method. And the Donate button now includes the donation amount!

  1. The Team Setup tool in Events now allows users to turn off the Team Captain question in event registration, therefore not requiring teams to have a captain.
  2. In Fundraisers - Donations, a new View Person Record button has been added to donation records. It's now a quick click to see the donor's history and individual Donor Dashboard!

We also added new features to the Attendance App:

  2. When a note is added to a site record, there is now an option of choosing a Note Type of Attendance App. This will allow the note to appear on the Site Information screen in the Attendance App for volunteers to see.
  3. The Shirt Order report has been renamed to Giveaway/Store Items to better accommodate a variety of merchandise.
  4. In Events - Management - Attendance App, accounts can now enter future sessions at any time during the program or edit existing sessions that have not had attendance taken yet. There is a new column in the Sessions tool to indicate if a session has had attendance taken.

New Pinwheel Features!

We added new business rules to the Auto-Accept function in Volunteer Recruitment Campaigns in an effort to reduce duplicate person records:

    1.      If an applicant’s first name, last name, address, and birth date all match to an existing person’s record, the application will be automatically accepted and merged with the existing record, even if the email addresses are different.

    2.      If an applicant’s first name, last name, and birth date all match an existing person record, but the address and email are different, the applicant will move to Needs Review status. When accepting the record, the system will notify the user that, "A person record was found for "Sam Jones" with a matching birthday and an email address of "sam@pinwheel.us".

    3.      If an applicant’s last name, address, and birth date all match an existing person record, but the first name and email are different, the applicant will move to Needs Review status. When accepting the record, the system will notify the user that, "A person record was found for "Sam Jones" with a matching address and birthday and an email address of "sam@pinwheel.us".

    4.      If an applicant’s first name, address, and birth date all match an existing person record, but the last name and email are different, the applicant will move to Needs Review status. When accepting the record, the system will notify the user that, "A person record was found for Sam Jones" with a matching address and birthday and an email address of "sam@pinwheel.us".

Attendance App Registration for SUMMER 2024 is OPEN!

NEW! Events can be set up to let participants select an ADDITIONAL category for the same person using the same participant details. This feature works well for events like summer camps, where a participant may want to select multiple weeks of camp in one registration. A participant record for each category will still be created. This feature can be found under Events > Settings > Participant Summary Page

New Pinwheel Features!
  1. NEW! Discount codes can now be made category-specific. For example, if an event has a 5K, a 10K, and a Kid's Run, and it has a discount for the Kid's Run only ($5 off for any child), designate the discount to only be applicable to that category when creating it. Then, at least one participant must be registering in that category for the discount code to work, and it will only apply to that participant's registration fees.
  2. NEW! The Financial Assistance page in registration (for events that are using it) can be turned on or off for specific categories. For example, if an after-school program location has outside funding and the participants do not need to take advantage of the financial assitance program, in the Category record, turn the new "Allow Financial Assistance page to appear?" toggle to No. That will hide the Financial Assistance page in the registration process. If multiple participants are in the registration with different categories, the Financial Assistance page will still appear if it is allowed for the other categories.

New Pinwheel Features!
  1. NEW! Accounts can now establish a minimum amount required for peer-to-peer fundraisers that are generated in events, and then collect payment for amounts still owed in Fundraisers! In Events - Setup - Fundraising Setup, a new Minimum Fundraising Requirement field has been added. In Fundraisers, for any fundraiser linked to an event with a minimum fundraising requirement, a Collect P2P Minimums tool appears in the Management submenu. Only fundraisers that haven't met the minimum will appear in the grid, and users can process payments for the amount owed using the fundraiser's original payment on file from registration.
  2. NEW! Additional messaging options have been added to Events - Categories, including First Page, Financial Assistance, and Discounts messages. Messages added to a category will only appear on those pages if the registration has a participant in that particular category. For example, if the Kid's Run category has a message for the Discount page, that message will only appear on the Discounts page if the registration has somebody on it who is in the Kid's Run category. In addition, a new Category Messages tool is on the Category tool bar that allows users to see all the messages that have been created for all categories, as well as Spanish and French translations. Users can edit messages directly in this tool.
