Attendance App Registration for SUMMER 2024 is OPEN!

NEW! Events can be set up to let participants select an ADDITIONAL category for the same person using the same participant details. This feature works well for events like summer camps, where a participant may want to select multiple weeks of camp in one registration. A participant record for each category will still be created. This feature can be found under Events > Settings > Participant Summary Page

New Pinwheel Features!
  1. NEW! Discount codes can now be made category-specific. For example, if an event has a 5K, a 10K, and a Kid's Run, and it has a discount for the Kid's Run only ($5 off for any child), designate the discount to only be applicable to that category when creating it. Then, at least one participant must be registering in that category for the discount code to work, and it will only apply to that participant's registration fees.
  2. NEW! The Financial Assistance page in registration (for events that are using it) can be turned on or off for specific categories. For example, if an after-school program location has outside funding and the participants do not need to take advantage of the financial assitance program, in the Category record, turn the new "Allow Financial Assistance page to appear?" toggle to No. That will hide the Financial Assistance page in the registration process. If multiple participants are in the registration with different categories, the Financial Assistance page will still appear if it is allowed for the other categories.

New Pinwheel Features!
  1. NEW! Accounts can now establish a minimum amount required for peer-to-peer fundraisers that are generated in events, and then collect payment for amounts still owed in Fundraisers! In Events - Setup - Fundraising Setup, a new Minimum Fundraising Requirement field has been added. In Fundraisers, for any fundraiser linked to an event with a minimum fundraising requirement, a Collect P2P Minimums tool appears in the Management submenu. Only fundraisers that haven't met the minimum will appear in the grid, and users can process payments for the amount owed using the fundraiser's original payment on file from registration.
  2. NEW! Additional messaging options have been added to Events - Categories, including First Page, Financial Assistance, and Discounts messages. Messages added to a category will only appear on those pages if the registration has a participant in that particular category. For example, if the Kid's Run category has a message for the Discount page, that message will only appear on the Discounts page if the registration has somebody on it who is in the Kid's Run category. In addition, a new Category Messages tool is on the Category tool bar that allows users to see all the messages that have been created for all categories, as well as Spanish and French translations. Users can edit messages directly in this tool.

New Pinwheel Features!
  1. NEW! Events can be configured to allow participants to select an ADDITIONAL category during registration for the same person without having to complete the details for an additional participant record. This feature works well for events such as after-school programs where a student may want to select multiple classes in one registration. A participant record for each category will still be created. This feature can be found under Events - Settings - Participant Summary Page.
  2. NEW! In Events - Categories, a Category Bulk Edits tool has been added to make updates to all or a group of categories, including Registration Status, Registration Type, Max Participants, and When Max Reached.
  3. NEW! Site records now have a Status field; options include Current, Prospect and Defunct. A status column has been added to the Sites grid. To start, all sites were assigned a status that can be updated by accounts. Sites that have no history were assigned Prospect, sites that have history from 2022 or later were assigned Current, and sites where the history is from 2021 or older were assigned Defunct.
  4. NEW! Additional columns were added to the Contacts tab on Site Records, including Employer, Title, Volunteer Roles, and Person Tags.
  5. Updated: In Events - Categories, the Registration Type options have been renamed:
    1. Online is now Available Online (shown on the event's Information Panel and can be selected for registration)
    2. Paper Show Online is now Show Online but Not Available (shown on the Info Panel but cannot be selected for registration)
    3. Paper Hide Online is now Not Available Online (will not appear on the Info Panel or to select for registration)

New Pinwheel Updates!

Updated! The Participant Summary page in Events has been refreshed!

  1. The Add Another Participant tool in the registration form is now a blue button, and the text on the button can be customized (see below).
  2. The Edit and Remove functions for participants on the summary page have been converted to a Pencil icon for editing and a Trash Can icon for removing.
  3. The default Participant Summary Message no longer appears on the Participant Summary page in registration; the newly updated buttons are now self-explanatory and the system wording is no longer needed. However, if users have customized the wording for the Participant Summary Page Message, that will still appear.
  4. In Event - Settings, the Participant Details tab has been renamed to Participant Summary Page tab, and the Add Another Participant Button Label has been added to customize the wording on the button on the Participant Summary page.
  5. The event's Standard Questions (those that appear on the first page of event registration) have been removed from the Participant Details tab in Settings, and are now on a new tab called Standard Questions.

New Feature! People Records have a new tab called Text Messaging. This tab shows all texts sent by the account through the Text Messaging tool to any of the phone numbers on the person's record.

Updated! In Volunteer Recruitment Campaigns, the following changes have been made:

  1. Under Setup, in Standard Questions, in the Medical Information Group, new Section Titles have been added, along with toggles for publishing the sections.
  2. In Standard Questions, in the Preferences and Availablility Group (this could have a different name in campaigns where it has been edited), there are also new Sections Titles and publishing toggles.
  3. In Preferences and Availability, in the Preferences section, new fields have been added called Filter Sites by County, and Filter Sites by City (by default, these are not published). If turned on, these fields will present a list of all the counties and/or cities for the sites offered in the application (as established in Settings). Once one or more counties/cities are selected, the Primary and Secondary site preferred fields will shrink to only show sites that meet any of the criteria selected.

New - Person Tags and Short URLs!
  1. New Feature! Person Tags are now available! Tags are identifiers used to sort people into groups based on certain attributes. For example, an account can create a tag called, “VIP” and apply that to people who fit the characteristics of a VIP for the organization. Tags can be defined in Account Settings and then applied to individual person records. The People Grid and the Donor List can then be filtered by any combination of tags, which can then be exported to Email Marketing for targeted communications. Tags may be controlled by parent organizations and not made available for adding/editing by child organizations.
  2. New Feature! Short URLs are now available on event, campaign, and fundraiser dashboards. We recommend using these INSTEAD of tools such as TinyURL or Bitly when sending links in Text Messaging. US telecom carriers do not recommend public URL shorteners because of the amount of spam generated through these. Using these tools can significantly impair the deliverability of a message. They instead recommend that the URL be proprietary (dedicated to a business, not a free shared public link) and properly branded (aligned with the message sender). The Pinwheel.us part of the new shortened URL meets these standards when including Pinwheel links in a message. Hovering over the URL on the dashboard will show the number of times the URL has been clicked, as well as the last date and time it was used.
