GOTR Upstate SC Spring 2024 5K Volunteer Registration

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Girls on the Run 5K!

When selecting your volunteer role, please note the time shift labeled on your selection.

Below is a brief description of the volunteer roles that are available:

Course Monitor - Stationed at a turn or driveway to keep runners on course and encourage them along the way.

Packet Pick Up - Assist GOTR Staff in handing out packets before the event (multiple day/time shifts are available)

• Wednesday 4/24 - Kroc Center (424 Westfield St, Greenville, SC 29601) (12:00 - 2:00 PM, 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. and 3:15 - 5:00 P.M.)
• Thursday 4/25 - USC Upstate (300 N Campus Blvd, Spartanburg, SC) (1:30 - 3:30 P.M. and 3:15- 5:00 P.M.)
• Saturday 4/27 - GOTR 5K (USC Upstate) (7:00 A.M.)

Water Station - Stationed at a water stop along the course; pass out water and cheer on participants.

Volunteer Check-In - Check in volunteers as they arrive, direct them to their designated position, and hand out materials as needed.

Coach Check-In - Check-in coaches as they arrive, direct them to their team areas, and hand out necessary materials. 

Team Marshall (Board members only) - Usher teams from Team Village to Starting Line at designated wave times and serve as crowd control when everyone is on the course.

Set Up - Help set up the event, inflate balloons, decorate tables, set out supplies, etc.

Tear Down - Help tear down after the event.

Greeter: Greet participants as they arrive, give directions and answer questions when necessary.

Inspiration Station: Give directions and answer questions ranging from 5K logistics to GOTR programming.

Photo/Video: Take photos and short video clips of meaningful interactions throughout the event.
