7/19/2025 Complete Chess Beginner Tournament Description:
This is a beginner (unrated) chess tournament open to all students(K-12) in San Antonio and nearby areas. We will play on Saturday at 11 am until finish time 2:30 pm.
Location: 13838 Jones Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247

Round Times:• 5 Rounds• Doors open at 11, round 1 starts at 11:30 and subsequent rounds asap.
Time controls:• All Rounds G/15Entry fee: $20.Profits go to opening a free chess club on the southside.
Sections may be combined if low entry.
• K-1st grade• 2nd-3rd grade• 4th-5th grade• 6th-8th grade• 9th-12th grade• Adult 18
Top 3 of each section win a trophy.
Top 2 teams of each section win a trophy.
3 wins gets a medal guaranteed.
Winners of each section will receive ONE FREE entry to any future Scholastic Saturday tournament at our location at 6391 DeZavala Rd. Suite 113A, San Antonio, TX 78249.
Team Rules:
Teams are created based on school and divided by section. Competitors that share a school and section form a team.If more than four members are on a team, only the top four team members will count towards team score.
