Each season Girls on the Run has a dynamic group of people who volunteer their time and energy to guide and mentor girls so that they are prepared to become happy, healthy, self-confident adolescents and adults. Coaches need not be runners; they just need to be individuals that want to be a positive influence and who are committed to developing and celebrating our youth.
Please be sure to read the GOTR Upstate NY 2025 Site Guidelines in the link on the right sidebar. As a reminder, for groups of 8-15 girls there must be a GOTR trained head coach and GOTR trained assistant coach on-site at all times. For groups of 16-20 girls there must be a GOTR trained head coach and 2 GOTR trained assistant coaches on-site at all times. It is recommended you have GOTR trained substitute coaches lined up as well for back up. Each head coach must be CPR/1st Aid Certified. If your head coach is absent, an assistant coach can fill in to act as head coach but must be CPR/1st Aid Certified. CPR/1st Aid Certification is a criteria for applying for a head coaching position and is the responsibility of the applicant to secure.
