Girls in 3rd-8th grades experience declines in confidence and physical activity as well as increases in bullying. They face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Girls need us now more than ever!
“My daughter was affected by the pandemic because she lost all sports. GOTR gave her back the love of sports, camaraderie, leadership and friendship. She opened up again to being physically active, meet new people, persevering to achieve a goal and finishing her race. Her grades go up when she’s in the program because she is motivated by the cultivation of emotions. THANK YOU!”

Girls on the Run Berks showed girls they weren’t alone in this journey and that together we can get through anything. Girls on the Run Berks was the highlight of their lives during this challenging time. The lessons, and the support of our volunteer COACHes helped them find their joy, connect with others, build resiliency and learn coping strategies.
Since 2013, Girls on the Run Berks has provided a safe space for connection, development and inspiration to over 4000 girls in Berks and Schuylkill county communities. We believe that EVERY GIRL is inherently full of power and potential. By learning they are the leaders of their own lives, these are the girls who WILL CHANGE THE WORLD! Girls on the Run Berks fosters Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access, focusing on strengths and abilities versus risks and challenges.
