Hello! My name is Cait, and I am so excited to be collaborating with Girls on the Run for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend 2021. I'm 31 years old, and I teach high school English in Southwest Florida. My favorite color is green, I like the "salted caramel" flavor of Gu packets on long runs, and I have two kittens named Fred and George Weasley (shoutout to all the other Harry Potter lovers out there!).
I started running seriously about a year ago, just after my dad passed away. Running gave me the time and space to grieve, and I realized then that, for me, running is more than a physical activity; it's a way to process the world, to gain confidence, and to build perseverance. Girls on the Run sees running the same way; its goal is to empower girls and use running as a tool for learning valuable life skills and experiences.
I'm so proud to support that cause! This January, I'll be running the full marathon at Disney-- my first ever full marathon!--to support Girls on the Run.
