OUR MISSION:
We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
THE PROGRAM:
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 positive youth development program which combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls. Our core curriculum addresses many aspects of girls’ development – their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons help girls make positive decisions to avoid risky adolescent behaviors. At the end of each program the girls run a celebratory 5K to experience the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment. However, at Girls on the Run, the finish line is just the beginning, as our ultimate goal is to provide the girls with tools and resources that develop their ability to think critically - a skill that will serve them well for a lifetime.
OUR GOAL:
Girls on the Run of Snohomish County is excited and eager to empower more girls in our community! We continue to grow and reach more kids throughout Snohomish County. In the 2026-27 school year, we will reach 1,000 girls and gender-expansive youth in ten school districts. We expect to provide over 450 pairs of new running shoes to kids who need them and have over 50% of all participants receive financial aid. Girls on the Run is only possible because of supporters such as yourself! We are grateful for our community for all the support they provide so girls and gender-expansive youth can be inspired to be healthy, joyful, and confident!
How your contribution can impact a girl in our community:
- $250 covers the registration fee for one girl for the entire 9 week season!
- $125 covers team supplies for one team for the entire season
- $75 covers CPR/First Aid certification for one coach
- $40 covers one pair of new running shoes for a program participant
- $12 covers healthy snacks for one participant for the season
- Any amount will help to support our program!
The full cost of our program is $500 PER GIRL. We receive around $120 per participant once we account for financial aid. We encourage you to help us fill that gap! We take pride in the high-quality program we provide at an affordable price with financial aid for any participant who needs it.
