Remarkable Volunteers Named in NOVA

Three photos in polaroids with names and titles written under each including Monique Hanis Remarkable Coach, Junior League NOVA Remarkable Fundraiser, and Marlou Svenson Remarkable Council Supporter.

We are thrilled to share that two individuals and one organization have been nationally recognized by Girls on the Run International for winning the Remarkable Volunteer awards in all three categories.

Our superstar and veteran coach, Monique Hanis, won in the Remarkable Coach category. Remarkable Coaches show up season after season, committed to inspiring the girls in their community. Through countless practices and finish line celebrations, these coaches create space where girls feel seen and supported.

Our well-rounded volunteer, Marlou Svenson, won in the Remarkable Council Supporter category for her above-and-beyond efforts lifting up GOTR NOVA. In addition to coaching and fundraising, Marlou serves on the GOTR NOVA Associate Board and Coach Advisory Council.

The Junior League of Northern Virginia won in the Remarkable Fundraiser Category. Remarkable Fundraiser recipients show how generosity can change lives. Through this partnership, they are inspiring others to invest in our mission and helping more girls in their community access Girls on the Run.
