Join the Spring 2026 5K Committee!

The 5K Committee plays a vital role in bringing our end-of-season 5K celebration to life! As a committee member, you’ll help plan and manage key aspects of the 5K and lead volunteers in areas such as:

Water stations
Course safety
Registration
Merchandise sales
Start/finish line
Refreshments
...and more!

What’s Involved

We ask that 5K Committee members:

Attend monthly planning meetings
Volunteer on the day of the 5K from start to finish
Recruit volunteers for the 5K
Support at least two additional events leading up to the 5K
Be available outside of meetings to assist with tasks or meet with the 5K Lead as needed
Be at least 18 years old

Additional Events

The 5K celebration is the culminating event of our 8-week program. To support our entire program as well as our hundreds of volunteer coaches and thousands of participants leading up to the 5K, we encourage 5K Committee members to volunteer at at least two of the following events:

Friday, February 27 – Coach Training Setup at Kensington Hotel
(Estimated time: 2:00–8:00 p.m.)
Saturday, February 28 – Coach Training at Kensington Hotel
(Estimated time: 8:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.)
Saturday, March 7 – “Starting Line” Season Kickoff at GOTR Office
(Estimated time: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.)
Friday, May 8 – 5K Setup at EMU
(Estimated start: 9:00 a.m. until finished - Highly encouraged for all committee members)
