This chip timed 5K Run/Walk follows a course of pavement, dirt roads and grass trails in and around the Lake Michigan College Napier Campus. Show your support of law enforcement in Berrien County.

FEES:   15 and Over: $20 by 11:59 pm 8/31

                                   $25 by 4:00 pm 9/09

                                   $30 Race Day   

            14 and under: $15 through Race Day

In 2016, SWMI RACERS was asked to organize the Berrien County Strong 5K Memorial Run/Walk to show support and honor the lives of Joe Zangaro and Ron Kienzle. Hundreds of people attended the event on Sunday, September 11 to run, walk, volunteer or just be present and show their support.

After hearing comments from the crowd, we asked if this should be an annual event, and the crowd responded YES! The overwhelming majority was to again hold the event on a Sunday, and the date of Sunday, September 10, 2017 was announced that afternoon. SWMI RACERS presented a check to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department in the amount of $6,600 to be used toward the purchase of Level 3 Security Holsters.

SWMI RACERS, and the Berrien County Strong 5K, is not affiliated with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. The event is a way for our community to show support for the men and women who serve and protect residents every day, with money raised staying  in Berrien County.

Proceeds from the 2nd Annual Berrien County Strong 5K will be donated toward the purchase of body cams for officers.
